A Big Check For The Boy's & Girl's of The Community
At today's groundbreaking for the new Boy's & Girl's Club I for the first time announced that I was able to secure a state appropriation of $750,000 for the park and green space that surrounds the Boys and Girls Club of Edinburg. The new 32,700 square foot complex is called El Portal del Norte facility.

Rep. Peña Casts His Vote Early in Elsa
In the early morning when the polls opened at 7, Rep. Peña was spotted coming out of the Elsa City Hall. I snapped this photo. I asked him why he chose to vote in Elsa instead of his home town of Edinburg, he said that he did it for his grandparents. "My grandparents came to this country from Mexico and settled in the farming community of Elsa. My grandmother became a citizen and first voted here. I honor their memory and their dreams for a better life with this campaign and this small gesture."
Early voting numbers reached the 5,000 level.
