Newspaper Forced To Retract Lie From Eddie Saenz Campaign

The Eddie Saenz campaign's website mentions that they thought no one was paying attention and so they may have felt free to issue yet another lie on an unsuspecting public. Making false and libelous statements is a dangerous activity for most people and so when a Valley newspaper was deceived into carrying an unfiltered press statement from the Saenz campaign they may have hoped that Saenz would follow the law and good common sense.

Today, after being confronted with the public record and the indisputable truth, the Edinburg Review Newspaper, on their front page, was forced to retract a lie perpetuated by Eddie Saenz and his campaign.

When on this blog, I pointed out the lie that was being peddled by Eddie Saenz via his consultant Kelly Fero, rather than issue an apology they responded on their Internet site by calling our objection "wild-eyed accusations" and further stated it was without "evidence".

In what must be a humiliating confession for any newspaper the Edinburg Review today laid out the "evidence" contained in the public record that clearly indicate Mr. Saenz and his consultant were lying in their statement that appeared in their newspaper. Discredit was not only once again brought on Saenz but unfortunately was brought on our hometown paper.

Sadly from what we have seen from Mr. Saenz and his campaign I won't hold my breath waiting for an apology. I would expect however that he and his consultant issue an apology to the general public for their inexcusable behavior in running a campaign that is beneath the good people of South Texas.

Our saving grace is that the Thanksgiving holiday begins tomorrow and perhaps the public may get a rest from the perpetual mudslinging from our opponent. That would surely be good reason to give thanks. We shall see ...
